PARIS HILTON WORKING WITH LIL'WAYNE

Ever since her 2011 reality show on Oxygen, "The World According to Paris," earned the dubious distinction of being the network's least-watched show of the year, 32-year-old hotel heiress Paris Hilton has been keeping a relatively low profile.
All that is about to change now that the sultry-eyed blond socialite is attempting to revive her career in music. Following in the footsteps of Lil Wayne, Drake, and Trinidad-born star Nicki Minaj, she's signed with Cash Money Records to create a new album. The new album is expected to be out this summer and is said to be a complete departure from her 2006 album "Paris" and later singles "Stars Go Blind" and "Last Night," also featuring Lil Wayne.

FRED DURSK SPEAKS ABOUT CASH MONEY AND LIL'WAYNE

I think the biggest news that’s been coming out of your camp lately is Limp Bizkit signing with Cash Money and your new single with Lil Wayne “Ready To Go.” How did that relationship first come about?
I’ve been a fan of Wayne and Birdman and the whole Cash Money Thing for a while. I went in the studio to do a track with Polow Da Don, and we ended up finding one of his beats I loved and we started working on the track and came up with “Ready To Go.” Wes Borland [Limp Bizkit guitarist] came down and played the guitar—it was a hip-hop version at the time with hip-hop drums—and after I was done I had asked Polow, “I would love to get Wayne on the track, you think he’d be into it?” He said, “You want me to send it to him?” So he sent it to him and got a response back that he likes it he’s down with it.
As we were trying to get off of Interscope, I had asked Cash Money if they wanted to put that track out themselves on their label, and just because I knew it’d get out and I knew it’d be something really cool, because I knew Wayne liked rock and skateboarding—all the things I like—and I got a call back saying, “Why don’t you guys just sign with Cash Money? Y’know we’re big fans and we’d love to have Limp Bizkit over here. We’d let you do what you want to do.” That’s how it happened, and bingo! I loved our conversations with Baby and Slim and felt like it was just a good fit.
From an outsider’s look, it makes sense that you guys would sign with someone like Cash Money because not only do you guys have the deep hip-hop influence, but Wayne obviously is a big fan of rock music. So that being said, how does that help you guys build that relationship with Lil Wayne?
Everything feels very organic. He doesn’t push or contrive. Wayne and I bonded after we signed with Cash Money over skateboarding and he’s got a half pipe in the parking lot at the studio down in Miami where we all recorded. I’m a skater and I’ve been skating for a really long time and I’d just go out there and start skating the ramp in the middle of the night, and Wayne would come out and just be skating, and we sort of bonded through our mutual love for skateboarding to be honest. We started talking and just became friends that way. He said that we’re family now and it’s all good and, honestly it was strictly through skateboarding.

INTERVIEW WITH THE YMCMP

You can read the interview below.
How long have you two known each other?
Bria Williams: Since we were babies! And she’s my godsister, so we’re really close.
How did you decide to write a book based on your lives?
BW: My dad said we should write a book. He just threw the idea out, but then Reginae and I really wanted to do it.
Reginae Carter: We always say, “Oh my gosh, if someone could just look in on our lives…” People think it would be so cool to be a celebrity’s kid, but it has its ups and downs. Me and Bria have been introduced to the paparazzi and awards shows since we were so little. One day, we said, “Everybody thinks it’s just so perfect, but maybe we should tell them how it is.” Instead of them just looking at us, they can come into our lives. We feel like not a lot of kids read nowadays, with social media and everything, so we’re hoping to put the fun back into reading.
What is it like to have a hip-hop star for a dad?
RC: There are some major advantages. Just the fact that you can go to awards shows and meet people in the industry that you look up to. Red carpets are so fun!
BW: It’s cool, because I see my dad on stage performing, and it’s like, “Wow, that’s my dad.”
RC: I am a big, huge fan of Rihanna and I met her a couple of weeks ago at her concert, and then she followed me on Instagram! She’s so cool. I love her.
What’s school like for you?
BW: School is fun, but the part I don’t like is waking up for it!
RC: I just graduated from eighth grade! My old school was very small, so it wasn’t a big deal. Not everybody tripped as much about my dad. And in my new school, a lot of people are like me, so it won’t be a problem.
What do your dads think of the book?
RC: I’m not sure if he’s read it yet, but he’s very proud of me and Bria.
BW: He’s super super excited. He read it!
What was it like to write a novel at such young ages?
BW: It was… long. It was hard! It’s fiction, so we had to come up with drama—but it is based on drama in our lives, too.
Would you want to write another book in the future?
BW: We might write another one if this one does well, but we’re also busy working on a clothing line too. It’s called YMCMP, which stands for Young Money Cash Money Princess, and they’re sweatshirts, jackets, socks—everything.
What music do you like listening to?
BW: I like Rihanna, Drake, Chris Brown, I like…there are so many things I like!
RC: I love pop, I love rap. I like some Christian music. And hip-hop! I don’t discriminate with music.
What are you up to this summer?
BW: Wayne’s going on tour, so we might catch that concert. My dad’s going with him, so I might get to tag along a little bit.
RC: I have the book tour, and I’m working on music, too. I’m in a duo with my friend—I sing, and she raps. We’ve been in the studio, and we should have an album out sometime this summer, but we’re not sure. We are going to be leaking something in June for Father’s Day!
